Sumatran coffee enjoys a well-deserved exotic appeal. Sumatra Mandheling coffee comes from numerous small-holder farmers who use the unique Giling Basah (wet hulling) method of processing that preserves up to 50% of the bean's moisture content and renders the pre-roasted beans with a deep bluish-green color. In our carefully developed dark roast you'll notice low acidity, rich body and a luscious spicy-sweetness that may evoke memories of your grandmother's homebaked gingerbread. Enjoy!
Brewing and Storage Instructions
1. Always begin with fresh cold water. Use filtered water if possible.
2. Measure coffee by weight if possible. Use 3/4 ounce of coffee by weight for each 12 fl oz of water (20g coffee per 350ml water). If no scale is available, use 1 level tablespoon of whole beans per 12 fl oz of water and adjust to taste.
3. Brew coffee according to instructions provided with your coffee maker.
Store unused beans in an airtight container away from heat and direct sunlight. We recommend that you do NOT store your coffee in the refrigerator or freezer. For maximum freshness, use beans within approximatley 10 days of opening the package.
